Barry Savitz, Founder, Senior Managing Partner
Mr. Savitz has been in the securities business for over forty years. He began his career in 1965 on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. In 1968, he joined Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. as a trader, and in 1970 became Head Trader for the State of Connecticut Pension Fund. He joined David L. Babson & Co. as Head Trader in 1973, and left in 1980 to become Head Trader for the IBM Pension Fund. Beginning in 1986, Mr. Savitz served as Vice President of Equity Trading at Salomon Brothers, where he was responsible for six groups of securities products. In 1989, he became the Manager of Equity Trading for Rockefeller & Co., and then became Head Trader for the Bass Brothers. In August of 1993, he left to form Furman Selz Prime Trading Group and became Head Equity Trader and Managing Director. Subsequently, the firm was acquired by ING Barings, which in turn was acquired by ABN Amro in April 2001. The team separated from ABN AMRO and began life as the independent Greenwich Prime a few months later. Mr. Savitz earned his B.A. degree from the City College of New York.
Patrick Connors, Founder, Managing Partner
Mr. Connors has been a trader for almost two decades, with a special expertise in the health care, biomedical, and pharmaceutical industries. He began his career at Herzog, Heine & Geduld in 1992 serving as a trading assistant. In 1994, he left to become an equity trader at Furman Selz Prime Trading Group. Subsequently, the firm was acquired by ING Barings, which in turn was acquired by ABN Amro in April of 2001. The team separated from ABN AMRO and began life as the independent Greenwich Prime a few months later. Mr. Connors earned his B.A. degree in Economics from Lehigh University.
Daniel Lilly, Founder, Managing Partner
Mr. Lilly began his career in 1995 at Henderson Brothers, a New York Stock Exchange specialist, as a specialist clerk. In 1996, he left to become an equity trader at Furman Selz Prime Trading Group. Subsequently, the firm was acquired by ING Barings, which in turn was acquired by ABN Amro in April of 2001. The team separated from ABN AMRO and began life as the independent Greenwich Prime a few months later. Mr. Lilly has a special expertise in basket trading and technical analysis, as well as a focus on the energy, MLP, and REIT sectors. He earned his B.A. degree from Wittenberg University.
Eric Savitz, Managing Partner
Mr. Savitz joined Greenwich Prime Trading Group as a Vice President in April 2002, serving as both a generalist on the trading desk as well as specific expertise in the technology sector. He began his career in 1997 as an assistant market maker and technical analyst at Wessels, Arnold & Henderson, which has become RBC Capital Markets. In 1998, he joined Societe Generale’s proprietary trading desk as head equity trader, where he traded the treasury account for three managers in excess of $500 million. In 2000, he joined Iberico Capital as the head trader and assistant portfolio manager. He earned his B.A. degree from Bentley University.
JP McNichol, Director of Business Development
Mr. McNichol joined Greenwich Prime in 2011 and has over 17 years of buy-side experience, including portfolio management, trading, operational and marketing roles. He began his career in 1994 with Chase Manhattan Global Investment Management as a sovereign debt analyst. Mr. McNichol moved over to the equity side of the business in 1999 when he joined Addison Capital Management. He left Addison when it was purchased by Phoenix Investments to join Schuylkill Capital Management, a firm which was capitalized by The Geometry Group. From 2005 to early 2009 Mr. McNichol worked for an affiliate of The Geometry Group, providing capital to early stage financial/investment management companies. In this role he helped source and structure new investment ideas, provided operational/management support and raised additional capital for those investments. In 2009 he joined a start-up commodity manager, FSM Capital, as Director/COO responsible for the firm’s financial, operational and marketing activities.
